Einstein on the Beach

Avant-garde opera reaches a new milestone as Philip Glass and Robert Wilson's groundbreaking work returns to France, marking a poignant revisit to its 1976 Avignon Festival debut. This 2014 revival at Theâtre du Châtelet culminates in its first-ever film adaptation by acclaimed director Don Kent. Rather than adhering to traditional storytelling, the opera loosely explores the pacifist ideals of Albert Einstein and his complex connection to the development of the atomic bomb, challenging audiences to reflect on the profound implications of science and morality.
