When a beautiful Chinese woman seeks assistance from detective James Lee Wong in San Francisco, her plea is tragically cut short by a poisoned dart, leaving only the cryptic message "Captain J." Identified as Princess Lin Hwa, she was on a covert military assignment against Japanese aggression. As Mr. Wong delves deeper into the mystery, he encounters two captains sharing the initial J, both harboring their own secrets. With fog cloaking the waterfront and the threat of the poison-dart gun still looming, Wong races against time to uncover the truth and protect his city.
