Set in the 1940s Deep South, this charming coming-of-age tale follows young Collin, who becomes an orphan in 1935 and relocates to live with his father's cousins, Verena and Dolly. Verena, a wealthy and domineering figure, clashes with the more free-spirited Dolly, prompting a rebellion against her authority. As tensions rise, Collin, Dolly, and their maid seek refuge in a whimsical treehouse, where they forge their own bonds and discover the value of independence and friendship. Based on Truman Capote's novel, the film blends humor with poignant moments, capturing the essence of youthful defiance.
