The Parade (2011) presents a poignant yet humorous exploration of the clash between the oppressive, homophobic majority and the progressive, open-minded minority in contemporary post-war Serbia. Centered around the struggle for gay rights, the film captures the challenges faced by a group of activists as they attempt to organize a pride parade in Belgrade, intertwining their efforts with actual footage from the 2010 gay pride event. Through its narrative, the film sheds light on the societal tensions and the quest for acceptance in a divided community.
