Orphan Connie Harding finds herself living with her wealthy relatives after finishing boarding school, but her new life is far from welcoming, particularly due to her disdainful cousin Barbara. When the family prepares for a lavish ball, Barbara schemes to keep Connie away from the festivities. However, with the support of her uncle, who plays the role of a fairy godfather, Connie manages to attend the event, where she encounters Ted Drake, her cousin's boyfriend, and sparks fly. This modern twist on Cinderella highlights themes of resilience and unexpected romance.
