Set in the 23rd century, Logan's Run follows the residents of a utopian domed city where indulgence is limitless, yet a grim rule dictates that no one may live beyond the age of 30. As citizens approach their milestone birthday, they face a choice: participate in a ceremonial "renewal" that promises rebirth or risk fleeing from the oppressive system. The narrative explores the tension between hedonistic freedom and the harsh reality of societal control, as the protagonist grapples with the implications of survival in a world where youth is revered, but life is tragically short.
