Sven Marquardt is renowned as one of the world's most famous bouncers, guarding the iconic Berghain club in Berlin. Beyond his door duties, he is a talented photographer who captured the essence of East Berlin's subculture long before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Marquardt’s striking black and white images reveal a world that is both alluring and gritty, reflecting a raw, existential vibe. His artistry, even in daylight, is steeped in themes of darkness, ecstasy, and the nightlife that defines Berlin's underground scene.
