Amira, a bright and vivacious student at an Islamic boarding school, is overjoyed when she weds Furqon, the cleric she has secretly admired for years. Yet her bliss evaporates as their marriage remains unconsummated, night after night. Furqon keeps a puzzling distance, leaving Amira to wrestle with unsettling questions: is he grappling with an intimate dysfunction, or is a darker truth buried in his silence? Perhaps his heart is still chained to another woman, and Amira may be nothing more than a convenient bride.
