Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney delves into the deeply troubling subject of pedophilia within the Catholic Church. The documentary traces the origins of the first significant protest against clerical sexual abuse in the United States, revealing the systemic issues that allowed such abuses to persist. Gibney’s investigation extends all the way to the Vatican, shedding light on the church’s response—or lack thereof—to these harrowing allegations. Through interviews and poignant testimonies, "Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God" confronts the silence that has long surrounded this scandal.
