Waste Land

"Waste Land" offers an inspiring glimpse into the intersection of art and resilience. Renowned artist Vik Muniz embarks on a poignant journey from Jardim Gramacho, the largest landfill globally, located near Rio de Janeiro, to the pinnacle of the art world. Through his collaboration with the remarkable catadores—recyclable material pickers who embody Shakespearean complexity—Muniz uncovers their stories. These individuals, wise and witty, share insights that echo Machiavelli while demonstrating the profound ability to reshape not only their environment but also their own lives through creativity and determination.
