In "Midnight Express," Billy Hayes finds himself in dire straits when he is apprehended while trying to smuggle drugs out of Turkey. The judicial system harshly punishes him, resulting in a staggering sentence of over 30 years in prison. Hayes sees two potential paths to freedom: the legal appeals initiated by his lawyer, family, and the U.S. government, or an audacious escape plan known as the "Midnight Express." As he navigates the brutal realities of prison life, he grapples with the desperate need to regain his freedom.
