Ninagawa, a prominent figure in Japanese politics with significant economic ties, faces a devastating tragedy when his granddaughter is brutally murdered. The prime suspect is Kunihide Kiyomaru, a man with a dark past, having previously been convicted of assaulting and killing a girl eight years prior, a crime that eluded justice. As Ninagawa grapples with his grief and the quest for vengeance, the film delves into the moral complexities of justice and retribution, questioning how far one would go to protect their family and honor.
