Georges Franju's Judex serves as a clever homage to the classic silent serials of Louis Feuillade. The narrative revolves around the enigmatic hero Judex, who seeks vengeance against the nefarious banker Favraux. This quest ignites a web of intricate plots and counterplots, showcasing Franju's flair for blending playfulness with suspense. As Judex navigates a world filled with deceit, the film captures the essence of early cinematic storytelling, inviting viewers into a richly stylized adventure where morality is as murky as the shadows he inhabits.
