Cracked Up explores the profound impact of childhood trauma through the life of Darrell Hammond, a talented actor and comedian known for his work on Saturday Night Live. Despite his success, Darrell battled severe flashbacks, addiction, and misdiagnosis stemming from his past. It wasn't until a dedicated doctor uncovered the memories he'd suppressed for over five decades that he began to heal. Director Michelle Esrick skillfully weaves humor and heartbreak, shedding light on the effects of toxic stress and advocating for compassion over stigma, ultimately inspiring hope in the face of adversity.
