Imperfect Harmony

Imperfect Harmony delves into the tension between two musical titans: avant-garde innovator Louis Andriessen and Mariss Jansons, the esteemed conductor of Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Years prior, Andriessen swore off composing for symphony orchestras, but now, with the Concertgebouw’s 125th anniversary concert approaching, he faces a reluctant change of heart. After much soul-searching, he accepts the challenge, setting the stage for a dramatic reunion of his rebellious spirit and orchestral tradition. This film intricately weaves their artistic struggles and the transformative power of music into a compelling narrative.
