Harmon Cobb, a dedicated small-town lawyer, finds himself in a moral quagmire as he represents a Nazi POW accused of murder during World War II. The tension escalates when the town's sole doctor, played by Barnard Hughes, dies at the notorious "Camp Bremen" in the fictional Bremen, Colorado. Cobb grapples with the community's outrage and his own principles while fighting for justice, forcing him to confront the complexities of defending someone deemed the embodiment of evil. As the case unfolds, the stakes rise, challenging his beliefs and the town's values.
