Set against the backdrop of World War I in 1917 Russia, the narrative follows the formation of the 1st Russian Women's Battalion of Death. Created by the Russian Provisional Government in a misguided attempt at propaganda in late May, this battalion comprises courageous women determined to fight for their country. As they confront the realities of war, the film explores themes of bravery, resilience, and the struggle for recognition in a male-dominated society, highlighting the personal and collective battles faced by these pioneering soldiers.
