Tom Jeffords, an Indian scout, embarks on a mission to quell the escalating conflict between American settlers and the Apache tribe in late 1870s Arizona. Through his journey, he discovers that the Apaches resort to violence primarily in self-defense or as retaliation against the injustices they have suffered at the hands of settlers. This realization compels Jeffords to seek a path toward peace, challenging the prevailing narratives of the time while navigating the complexities of a divided land. His efforts highlight the urgent need for understanding and reconciliation amidst the turmoil.
