One Nation Under Dog

Americans cherish dogs, often calling them best friends or family members. Yet, beneath this affection lies a stark reality of neglect and tragedy in dog ownership, care, and commerce, particularly for millions of abandoned shelter dogs. This 73-minute documentary unfolds in three segments—“Fear,” “Loss,” and “Betrayal”—featuring eight poignant case studies that explore our complex bond with canines. Each segment sheds light on the harsh truths of dog treatment, illustrating the extremes some owners will go to while highlighting the urgent need for humane practices nationwide.
