An open audition invites men aged 16 to 99 to explore the provocative themes of a controversial text. Stripped of props and makeup, participants must rely solely on their improvisational skills to engage with the contents of “Josefine Mutzenbacher, or the Life Story of a Viennese Whore, as Told by Herself,” a scandalous 1906 novel. This film delves into the ongoing debates surrounding the work, which is viewed by some as a masterpiece of erotic literature while others condemn it for its troubling portrayal of child sexuality. The challenge lies in navigating these polarizing perspectives.
