A spirited six-year-old named Moonee and her eclectic group of friends embark on a summer filled with imagination and adventure, exploring the vibrant world around them. Their days are marked by innocent mischief and boundless curiosity, creating a stark contrast to the challenges faced by the adults in their lives, who grapple with financial hardships. Set against the backdrop of a budget motel near Disney World, the narrative beautifully captures the juxtaposition of childhood joy and the struggles of adulthood in a poignant, heartfelt manner.
