A neurotic psychology student grappling with self-doubt crosses paths with Abby, a vivacious and outgoing employee at a New York City health club. Their impulsive chemistry leads to a spontaneous marriage, driven by Abby's adventurous spirit. Meanwhile, Ira's analyst parents, ever the practical thinkers, gift the newlyweds a year of marriage counseling as a wedding present. This unexpected twist sets the stage for a humorous exploration of love, self-discovery, and the challenges of navigating a relationship under the watchful eye of family expectations.
