Inspired by Dexter Filkins’ powerful New Yorker piece, this story follows Marine Lu Lobello, who is tormented by memories of a fatal incident in Baghdad. Consumed by guilt and regret, he embarks on a journey that ultimately leads him to contact Nora—the only surviving member of the family he fears he may have hurt.
