Handle with Care: The Legend of the Notic Streetball Crew

Emerging from Vancouver’s suburbs, The Notic streetball crew, primarily made up of immigrants and first-generation Canadians, defied expectations to achieve global recognition two decades ago. Resisting the casual racism of their high school coaches and the pressure to conform, these spirited players embraced streetball as a form of self-expression. Their electrifying performance at the NBA-sponsored Hoop It Up tournament near Science World showcased their jaw-dropping skills and creativity. Soon, their thrilling exploits were captured on a DIY VHS mixtape, which quickly gained acclaim as "the bible of streetball," spreading their influence worldwide.
