In an unnamed European nation teetering on the edge of conflict, the frail and cerebral Ester arrives at a nearly deserted hotel with her sister Anna and Anna's young son, Johan. As their time unfolds, the trio struggles with a profound disconnect, exacerbating their sense of alienation. Anna's flirtation with a local man stirs tension between the sisters, while Johan, left to navigate the world on his own, experiences a series of mysterious interactions that deepen the prevailing atmosphere of solitude and unease.
