Babies

"Babies," a captivating documentary by Thomas Balmès, explores the early lives of four infants from diverse backgrounds as they navigate their first year. The film contrasts the experiences of Ponijao, a Namibian baby from Opuwo, and Bayar, who hails from Bayanchandmani, Mongolia, with those of urban infants Mari from Tokyo and Hattie from San Francisco. Through stunning visuals and a lack of narration, the documentary offers a heartwarming glimpse into the universal journey of infancy, showcasing the cultural differences and similarities that shape these young lives.
