Eight-year-old Cody finds himself in a new environment for the summer, accompanied by his mother, Kathy. Struggling to connect with the local children, his days seem dull until he forms an unexpected bond with Del, the grumpy elderly neighbor next door. As their friendship blossoms, both Cody and Del discover the power of companionship and the importance of looking beyond first impressions. The film beautifully explores themes of connection and understanding across generations, revealing how unlikely friendships can profoundly impact our lives.
