As Carnival approaches, a group of impoverished boys in the slums embarks on a disturbing quest to capture stray cats. Their aim is to procure the felines' skins, which are essential for crafting Samba percussion instruments, particularly the Tamborim, a small but vital drum in the festive music. The narrative unfolds against a backdrop of vibrant cultural celebration, highlighting the stark contrasts between the boys' harsh reality and the joyous spirit of Carnival, raising questions about morality and survival in a world driven by both creativity and desperation.
