Stiff Upper Lips offers a humorous take on British period dramas, playfully skewering the opulent style of Merchant-Ivory films from the '80s and early '90s. While it directly pokes fun at classics like A Room with a View, Chariots of Fire, and Maurice, the satire extends to broader Edwardian characteristics, including rigid propriety, sexual restraint, xenophobia, and class elitism. This clever parody invites viewers to laugh at the absurdity of these traits while celebrating the genre's tropes, all wrapped in a whimsical narrative.
