As a key aide to George Washington, Laurens, alongside his freed slave, fights tirelessly for liberty during the American Revolution. This extraordinary warrior and visionary not only battles the British but also confronts his father's beliefs and the new Congress. By age 27, Laurens emerges as a prominent abolitionist, laying the groundwork for the future fight against slavery in America.
