Wasao, an endearing Akita from Aomori Prefecture, captured hearts online as an adorable yet unconventional dog. This charming drama features Wasao in a narrative that blends fact with fiction. Setsuko, a spirited owner of a grilled-squid stall in a coastal village near the Shirakami mountains, encounters the scruffy stray and welcomes him into her life. She names him Wasao and offers him warmth and care, but initially, the dog remains distant, setting the stage for their evolving bond and the challenges they face together.
