Séraphine Louis, known as Séraphine de Senlis, emerges from a life of servitude to become an extraordinary self-taught artist in early 20th-century France. Her unique vision captures the attention of art critic William Uhde, propelling her into the spotlight alongside fellow naïve artists like Henri Rousseau. However, as the world spirals into the chaos of the Great Depression and World War II, Séraphine's brilliance fades, leading her into a tragic decline marked by madness and obscurity. Her story poignantly reflects the fragility of artistic success amid societal turmoil.
