A family of English actors journeys through India's towns and villages, performing classic Shakespearean plays. Their travels reveal a nation in transition, where traditional values give way to modernity, as former Maharajas turn into hotel proprietors, and sports begin to overshadow cultural pursuits. The rise of Bollywood signals a shift in entertainment preferences, pushing theater to the sidelines. Inspired by the real-life experiences of Geoffrey Kendal and his daughter Felicity Kendal, this poignant narrative captures the clash between heritage and progress in a rapidly evolving society.
