King of Herrings

Four aimless friends in Crescent City navigate their mundane lives filled with dreams of grandeur amidst a backdrop of cards, women, and endless coffee. Their antics blend humor with deeper emotions, revealing both the absurd and heartbreaking aspects of life. Ditch, their self-proclaimed leader with a Napoleon complex, is both adored and challenged by his friends until he crosses a line with the self-styled Professor. What follows is a darkly comedic spiral of threats and sexual manipulation as they grapple with modern masculinity. Shot in black and white, this character-driven tale echoes the styles of Woody Allen and Tom Waits, featuring a seasoned ensemble cast.
