Set against the backdrop of a Polish village, a poignant tale unfolds, intertwining a WWII tragedy with a modern wedding occurring 80 years later. As the celebrations commence, the narrative reveals a community grappling with its xenophobic tendencies and a troubling amnesia regarding its own past. The contrast between the joyous occasion and the village's dark history serves as a bitter reminder of the struggles faced by those who once lived there, prompting reflection on the importance of remembering and acknowledging the scars of history.
