Diary of an African Nun

Night after night, Sister Maria lies awake on her narrow cot, the cold stone walls of her cell closing in around her. The distant beat of village drums seeps through the window, a hypnotic rhythm that pulls at something deep within her. Each pulse seems to question her choice—the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience now feel like chains rather than salvation. Her faith wavers as doubt gnaws at her spirit, the primal call of her homeland growing louder with every passing hour, threatening to drown out the silence she once sought.
