Twelve-year-old Kathleen resides in a sprawling home with a nanny, a butler, and several maids, while her father is often preoccupied with work and her mother is absent. Longing for a traditional family unit, she fabricates a story about having a mother, father, and herself living happily together. This deception complicates her life, preventing her from inviting friends over, as she fears they'll discover the truth behind her perfect family narrative. Kathleen navigates the loneliness and yearning for connection, all while clinging to her idealized vision of family life.
