Kirby Dick's eye-opening documentary delves into the opaque and often arbitrary system that the Motion Picture Association of America uses to rate films. He uncovers the organization’s covert tactics to influence cultural norms and raises critical questions about favoritism among major studios. By highlighting the stark contrasts in the MPAA's treatment of sexual content versus violence, Dick challenges viewers to reconsider the implications of these ratings on creativity and expression in cinema. The film serves as a powerful commentary on the politics of film censorship and its broader societal impact.
