Set in 1980s East Germany, Barbara, a Berlin physician, finds herself exiled to a rural clinic after seeking an exit visa. Struggling with her new reality, she grapples with feelings of isolation and distrust, convinced that her colleagues may be Stasi informants. Despite the warmth of Andre, the kind-hearted clinic director, Barbara remains emotionally guarded, wary of forming connections in such a repressive environment. Her journey unfolds as she navigates the complexities of loyalty, fear, and the longing for freedom in a time of oppression.
