In 2017, the community of Bisbee, Arizona, gears up to mark a century since the tragic Bisbee Deportation of 1917, when 1,200 striking miners were forcibly removed from their homes and abandoned in the desert. To grapple with this painful chapter in their history, locals reenact key moments from the strike, each influenced by their personal interpretations and experiences. These poignant recreations culminate in a powerful retelling of the deportation, staged on the anniversary itself, as residents confront a legacy of violence and division while seeking healing through remembrance.
