The Glastonbury legend emerged in the summer of 1971, as organizers aimed to establish a groundbreaking festival embodying an 'alternative and utopian society.' Held on Midsummer's Day at Worthy Farm in Pilton, the event embraced a vibrant tapestry of music, dance, poetry, and theater. Reflecting medieval customs, it also celebrated spontaneous performances and nudity, creating a unique atmosphere that captured the spirit of freedom and creativity. This inaugural gathering laid the groundwork for what would become an iconic cultural phenomenon, inviting attendees to immerse themselves in a transformative experience.
