Marshall Dan Mitchell serves as the law in the divided town of Abilene, where a tense separation exists between the cattlemen and the townspeople. Each group occupies its own territory, allowing Mitchell to maintain a fragile peace with relative ease. However, the status quo is threatened as tensions rise, forcing him to confront the reality of his situation. As divisions deepen, Mitchell must navigate the complexities of loyalty and justice to prevent chaos from erupting in his community, challenging the very balance he has worked to uphold.
