In "Mimic," a deadly disease transmitted by cockroaches threatens the lives of children in Manhattan. To combat this crisis, entomologist Susan Tyler develops a genetically modified insect that produces a substance lethal to the roaches. Designed to perish after one generation, these mutants instead adapt and thrive.
