Beginning with its Jazz roots and the legendary bands of James Brown in the '60s, the journey moves to the Bay Area to honor Sly & the Family Stone. Next, it delves into Dayton, the birthplace of many Funk pioneers, before heading to Detroit, where P-Funk's Mothership rose from Motown's legacy.
