Consultant surgeon Tora Hamilton relocates to the isolated Shetland Islands with her husband, Duncan, seeking a fresh start. While exploring the area's boggy terrain, she stumbles upon the body of a young woman, marked with mysterious runes and missing her heart. Despite local warnings to refrain from investigating further, Tora becomes engrossed in unraveling the chilling connections to an ancient legend that suggests dark forces may still haunt the land. As she delves deeper, Tora finds herself entangled in a web of danger that blurs the line between myth and reality.
