A long drought, fueled by provocations from Kiraz’s brother, Kekec Salman, drives the peasants to steal the crops and flee to Istanbul. With no workers or harvest, the Agha is forced to sell the village and follow. Unable to adapt to city life, he squanders his fortune. As he falls, his wife and relatives abandon him.
