Albert and Harold Steptoe, a father-son duo running a rag-and-bone business, navigate life from their junkyard home. Eager to change their fortunes, Harold uses his father's savings to bet on a nearly blind greyhound, but when the dog fails to win, financial troubles mount. Desperate to clear his debts, Harold concocts a scheme to claim his father's life insurance. The catch? Albert must feign his own death.
