A British actor leaves behind his Hollywood fame to join the Kurdish YPG in the fight against ISIS in Syria, drawing both admiration and skepticism. While many view him as a heroic figure confronting a formidable enemy, critics argue he’s merely a self-absorbed narcissist seeking to boost his public image. After his service, he finds himself unwelcome in both the UK and the US. Featuring gripping helmet-cam footage from the front lines and insightful interviews with the actor, supporters, and experts, Heval offers a gripping exploration of one man's contentious journey in a complex conflict.
