Allie, a recently out teenager, grapples with her identity while concealing her girlfriend from her traditional Chinese American family. During the Hungry Ghost Festival, she encounters the spirit of Maxine, a long-lost relative who navigated her own queer identity decades earlier. Despite the generational gap, the two bond over their shared experiences of seeking acceptance and understanding within their families. Their connection not only illuminates the challenges of belonging but also the strength found in embracing one's true self amidst cultural expectations.
