Set in the aftermath of World War II, 1945: The Savage Peace reveals the brutal treatment faced by ethnic Germans in neighboring countries like Czechoslovakia and Poland. As the Nazi regime collapses, long-standing communities are violently uprooted, suffering horrific retribution for the sins of their former oppressors. The film poignantly explores themes of vengeance and injustice, illustrating how the cycle of brutality continued even after the war's end, drawing parallels between the atrocities committed during the conflict and the harsh realities of a shattered peace.
